Thank you precious young man, I certainly needed to hear this today as I had been supporting somebody on social media and 'they' all turned on me and it was so unjustified that, it had affected me. Here is something God gave me through His Spirit many years ago after He healed me of chronic clinical depression. As Britt shows us the biggest battle field is the mind:
The following scripture is foundational and it reminds us that we need to have faith and realise that: Hebrews 4:12: “The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
1. Isaiah 55:11: “So is my word that goes out from my mouth; it will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Spoken by God.)
2. 1 Peter 5:6-8: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith,”
3. James 4:7 and 8: “Submit yourselves then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and He will come near to you.”
4. Romans 12:2: “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good and perfect will.”
5. 2 Corinthians 10:4 and 5: “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
6. Philippians 4:8: “Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”
7. John 3:30: “He must become great and I must become less.” This was John the Baptist speaking about Jesus. This really is our ultimate aim.
There is another scripture which speaks about hearing the word of God: “So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17. In other words hearing God’s Word increases our faith so, if at all possible, if you can speak out these scriptures so much the better and what is even better is if you can use them like medicine – speaking them out loud three times a day, once to God, once to yourself and once to the enemy of your soul! When you read these, especially out loud, they show you:
1. what God’s Word can accomplish;
2. then you have His promise;
3. next we come to your part in this walk with God through several scriptures and
4. then there is the reminder at the end of what John the Baptist said about Jesus and this is what we should aim for because in doing this, amazingly, we become more and more the person God designed us to be in the first place.
I do pray somebody find this useful, as you can see from what I said at the beginning of this comment I too need reminding and there's nothing like God's Word, as Britt has showed us to bring all that we need to continue in these dark days.
No. I am not experiencing those conditions. By all means carefully select the media that fills your being. Most importantly, stay in the Word, reading through daily on a year schedule, to start.
