How to Prepare for the Great Reset

One of the questions I’m most asked is, “How do I prepare for what’s coming?” How do you prepare for the Great Reset? How do you prepare for the greatest financial and economic crisis in history?

The Bible says:

"A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences" Proverbs 27:12 (NLT)

While I can’t speak to everyone’s individual circumstance, I can tell you what our family is doing. And know this – it’s likely not enough. But that’s okay. No one can prepare perfectly for what’s coming. But what you can do is make sure the biggest issues are resolved. So in this article, I’ll provide a breakdown of the most important areas to prepare and what we’re doing – including a breakdown of items we’ve acquired and what we’re invested in.

Previously, I wrote about the massive financial problems we face in an article titled, “How the Current Global Financial Crisis Leads to Biblical Tyranny (in 10 Steps).”

In the near future, I fully anticipate we’ll see financial turmoil unlike anything most people alive today have witnessed. The current monetary system is coming to the end of its useful life, but before it disappears, we’re likely to see the world collapse under the weight of an unprecedented debt burden. Individuals, small businesses, corporations, cities, states, and entire nations have taken on massive amounts of debt – debt that can never be paid back. And what can’t be paid back, won’t be paid back.

Once the world hits peak debt load, the debt defaults and bankruptcies will start. Then, they’ll accelerate. The entire world will be sucked into a deflationary spiral akin to what we saw during the Great Depression. It’s the same deflationary spiral currently wreaking havoc in China. When that happens, the world will experience the greatest economic and financial crisis in history.

We’ll see runs on banks, bank failures, and ultimately – a bank holiday as credit markets freeze, and governments around the world try to reboot the system. Eventually, world markets will stabilize. But know this – in the event of a bank holiday, everything will stop. Imagine the COVID shutdowns, but worse. A bank holiday won’t last as long, maybe just a few days – and no more than a few weeks. But it won’t be fun.

With credit markets frozen, commerce will grind to a halt. Trucks won’t run. Economies won’t move. And everything will freeze. That means grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations won’t get restocked. Are you prepared for such an event?

While we’re nearing the 7-year Tribulation (and thus, the rapture of the church – since I believe the Bible teaches the rapture occurs before the Tribulation), we have no guarantee hard times and difficulties won’t strike before the rapture, while we’re still here.

Jesus said:

"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." John 16:33 (NLT)

If you’re a prudent person who foresees the dangers around us, what precautions can you take? Fortunately, there’s a lot you can do. For instance, you can outright eliminate some of the dangers you face. Others, however, you can only mitigate.

In the end, you need to be resilient, and you need to focus on five primary areas of resilience – spiritual, mental/emotional, relational, physical, and financial. What follows below is a guide to how you can improve your resilience in each of these five areas.

1) Spiritual

The most important preparation you can take in life is to make sure you have a saving grace relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Bible says:

"For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard." Romans 3:23 (NLT)

And the Bible also says:

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 (NLT)

Fortunately, there’s Good News. Because the Bible also says:

"But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." Romans 5:8 (NLT)

So make sure you know Jesus. Make sure you trust in Him as your savior.

Jesus says:

"Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me." Matthew 12:30 (NLT)

Nothing is more important. So make sure you're with Jesus.

2) Mental/Emotional

In any difficult environment, maintaining a healthy mental and emotional state is extremely valuable. The cornerstone of such a state and the key to having peace of mind is to have Jesus Christ as the foundation of your life. Jesus says:
